Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Audiolux family of apps — Audiolux VJ, Audiolux Jam, and future Audiolux apps — along with the Audiolux website at audiolux.app. It explains what each app does and does not do with your information. The honest summary is that Audiolux is built to need as little of your data as possible, and in some cases none of it.

Different Audiolux apps work in different ways, so the relevant details are broken out per app below. When we add a new Audiolux app, we'll add its section here.

Audiolux VJ

Audiolux VJ is an iOS app that turns sound into light. Here is exactly what it does with information.

The microphone. Audiolux VJ uses your device's microphone to turn sound into light. The incoming audio is analyzed live, on your device, to drive the on-screen visuals and the lights you connect. That audio is never recorded, never stored, and never transmitted off your device. It exists only for the instant it takes to compute the next frame of light, and then it is gone. We do not send it to us, to any server, or to any third party.

The local network. If you connect real lights, Audiolux VJ uses your local network to discover and stream to your own WLED fixtures on your Wi-Fi. This communication stays on your network, between your phone and your lights. We do not route it through our servers, and we do not collect information about your network or the devices on it.

What we collect. Through the Audiolux VJ app, we collect no personal data. There is no account to create, no login, no analytics SDK, no advertising identifiers, and no usage tracking.

Purchases. In-app purchases (the one-time Audiolux Pro unlock) are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details; Apple processes the transaction under Apple's Privacy Policy.

Audiolux Jam

Audiolux Jam is the web app at jam.audiolux.app for making music visually, together. Because it's an online, multi-user app, it needs a little more information than Audiolux VJ does.

Accounts and sign-in. Audiolux Jam uses Supabase for account sign-in and authentication. When you create an account or sign in, account information such as your email address is processed and stored by Supabase on our behalf so we can sign you in and keep your session.

Support chat. If you use the in-app live chat, that chat is provided by Crisp. Messages you send through the chat, and the details needed to route them, are processed by Crisp so we can reply to you.

We use this information to operate Audiolux Jam and to support you. We do not sell it. If you'd like your Audiolux Jam account or data removed, email us at the address below.

The website

The Audiolux website is a marketing site. If you choose to join a mailing list or newsletter, you give us your email address so we can email you — for example, to tell you when an Audiolux app launches. You can unsubscribe at any time from any email, and we don't use your email for anything other than the updates you signed up for. The site may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic (such as how many people visited a page); this is not tied to your identity and is not used for advertising.

Selling your data

Audiolux does not sell your personal data, full stop. We don't share it with data brokers and we don't use it to build advertising profiles.

Accessing or deleting your data

You can ask us what personal data we hold about you and ask us to delete it. For Audiolux VJ there is generally nothing to delete, since the app collects no personal data. For Audiolux Jam, email us at audiolux@debastion.com and we'll handle your request.

Children

Audiolux apps are made for general audiences and do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how an Audiolux app handles information — or add a new app — we'll update this page and the “last updated” date above. Because we collect so little, we expect changes to be infrequent.
